Training

Are you working with children, adults or families in Manchester?

We offer free, multi-agency safeguarding training online and in person.

Our training programme is informed by local learning, including Safeguarding Practice Reviews and emerging themes across Manchester. This ensures that content remains relevant, practical and focused on improving outcomes.

“The course was very informative and the trainers were excellent; their use of examples was fantastic and help provide real life scenarios of what was being discussed” (Awareness of Domestic Violence & Abuse Training)

Yes. You can book multiple courses, but by booking you are committing to attend. If you cannot attend, please arrange for a colleague to attend in your place where possible.

Who can access your training?

Our training is available for anyone working with a child, adult of family in Manchester.

If your organisation is based outside of Manchester, but you are working with someone in Manchester, you are still eligible to attend our courses.

Yes, if they are working with an adult, child or family in Manchester

Are there any costs for late cancellations or no-shows?

No. There are currently no charges for cancellations or non-attendance. However, please cancel at least 14 working days before the course date. If possible, arrange for a colleague to attend in your place.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance or completion?

Yes. You will receive a certificate once you have completed the training and submitted the post-course evaluation form. Your certificate will be available in your account alongside the course details.

Can I access past training certificates again?

Yes. All your certificates are available in your account when you log in.

How often should I refresh my safeguarding training?

This depends on your role, responsibilities, and level of contact with children, young people, or adults. Speak to your line manager for guidance.

What Safeguarding Training do I need?

The training you need depends on your role, level of responsibility, and how often you come into contact with children, young people or adults with care and support needs.

Most people will need basic Safeguarding training.  We offer this online and in person.

If you run a small organisation, you or someone in your organisation will need to have a ‘Designated Safeguarding Lead’ training.  See below for more information.
