National Safeguarding Adults Week – 18-24 November 2019
Next week is National Safeguarding Adults Week – our aim is to create a time where we can all focus on safeguarding adults – so we can be better, together.
The Ann Craft Trust in collaboration with the SAB Manager Network and The University of Nottingham have identified a number of safeguarding themes.
For more information on the Ann Craft Trust and National Safeguarding Week please visit their website at www.anncrafttrust.org/national-safeguarding-adults-week/
Over the week we will be focusing on raising awareness of five key themes:
- Herbert Protocol
- Modern Day Slavery
Help us to raise awareness of these key issues facing adults at risk – you can help by:
- learning about these issues from our website resources and information
- sharing resources within your organisation and with the people you meet
- using the #SafeguardingAdultsWeek hashtag on social media to share resources
- holding safeguarding events and training.
How Much Do You Know About Safeguarding Adults? Complete this checklist to find out!
Over the past six months the Ann Craft Trust have being working on a project funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the National Lottery, to produce key guidance and resources on safeguarding.
Whether creating a safeguarding policy for the first time, or looking to develop an existing safeguarding provision, these resources will guide you through the journey to creating a safer environment for all. The full suite of resources produced by the project are available for free at knowhow.ncvo.org.uk/safeguarding/safeguarding#
As part of the project, the ACT have developed the Safeguarding Adults Checklist – this is quick and easy to complete and will enable an individual or an organisation to assess their understanding of safeguarding and gain access to essential resources.
The checklist covers the Safeguarding, Prevention, Recognition, Reporting & Recording and Reviewing processes. On completion, you will receive a tailored report with the responses and a unique link to additional learning resources and materials, allowing you to have the right safeguarding measures in place for adults at risk.
