Free online course – the link between violence to people and violence to animals

Virtual College have recently created a free online course designed to help frontline staff spot animal abuse and understand the link between violence to people and violence to animals.

The course is particularly appropriate to child protection services, health professionals, police officers, teachers and education experts, children’s social care, adult social care and housing authorities. It has been written to provide a basic understanding of what animal abuse is, how to spot the signs, as well as to understand the recognised link between family abuse and animal abuse, and understand what to do if you have suspicions of abuse.

To develop this course, Virtual College worked in partnership with The Links Group, a multi-agency interest group that promotes the welfare and safety of vulnerable children, adults and animals so that they are free from violence and abuse.

If you would like to access the course, please register via our online training offer at  manchesterscb.virtual-college.co.uk/  or via the link www.understandinganimalwelfare.co.uk
